People all around you
Everywhere that you go
People all around you
They don't really know you

Its true.and i think a lot of us feel that-well,if thats any consolation.but then again, there's some form of optimism in this song...liz has "half" converted me...

Give me a dance floor
Give me a dj
Play me a record
Forget what they say
Cause I need to go
Need to getaway tonight

I put my makeup on a saturday night
I try and make it happen
Try to make it all right
I know I make mistakes
I'm living life day to day
It's never really easy but it's ok

who says teeny boppy songs cant be theraputic?:D.its friday night and i feel like i should be out having a good time.

anyways...here comes the other part of my post.i just have to complain to someone(someone=my blog)!
i had a long long day today.10am-6pm at uni.full-on, non-stop work.

1000-1100h: intermediate micro lecture (which i zoned out out halfway through cos i
didnt really understand and was too groggy and tired to process anything)
1100-1110: self imposed coffee break.
1110-1200: QM lecture. (more awake after the coffee:more about what happened in
lecture below)
1200-1300: intermediate micro lecture (second stream of the day-cos i totally didnt
understand anything in the first one.yess!im kiasu.haha.)
1300-1330: breaktime!went to the bookroom to check out the booksale.
1330-1600: library study session.
1600-1715: QM group meeting.

Last week,we had this forecasting competition for QM (=quantitative methods). We were supposed to forecast share prices for 5 shares/bonds for this wednesday.I was so stressed about it cos i had no idea what i was supposed to do.What made it worse was that i couldnt get my program to work;the program was supposed to retrieve data on the shares that i downloaded onto my laptop so that i can do the forecasting.
so at 12am,nina and set out for uni, hoping it would work on the comps at the lab.BUT IT DIDNT.but then somehow i figured it out using my own comp and was all happy thinking i could finally do my forecasting!by that time i was already too tired and too lazy to do too much computing for just 5% (of the subject).SO,i decided to "predict" it.hmm,if u know what i mean...i just guessed it.typed some random number i got off my head, and submitted it online.
On Wednesdays we have our first lecture of the week (lectures are on weds and fridays),guess what!THE STOCK MARKET CRASHED!!!hmmmmmmm,so everyone must have forecasted a wrong amount...
So,today at lecture,Vance (the lecturer) announced the winners for the forecast.Winners got to have lunch with him and Nobel Prize Winner for Economics,Sir Clive Granger, this welsh dude. This girl, the winner, actually got quite close to the actual value.SHE FORECASTED THE CRASH!Vance got her to the podium.

Vance: so,this is your prize.(fumbles through the stuff in the bag).the prizes include violet crumble and crunch.which represents the stock market.(laughs to himself)
Class: (laughs at him laughing to himself)
Vance: so,tell everyone how u forecasted the crash.
Girl: i dont know really.i just googled it.
Class: (claps)

Tell me how smart is that?i should've thought of that.(ummm,i say it only now.too little too late.)
i like this class.dont really like the subject by itself (because it seriously sucks.sometimes i just compute equations blindly without knowing what they're for).but i like it because its one of the few subjects where i feel like secondary school again where u are more engaged in the classes.i might not know the person thats sitting next to me.but when vance says something stupid,we all laugh and clap and think he's a bit mental.
