the importance of being idle.
everytime a person asks me what i wanna do when i graduate,i try not to cringe and come up with some job as my answer.its not really the same everytime.or more likely the answer will be,im not really sure yet?
truth is,i dont really know and do not have a concrete plan ahead.
the next time someone asks me again,i'll say: i wanna be a bum.or i WILL be a bum.
saves me the trouble of thinking up something new everytime.
thats what i told nina and dev yesterday.
just let me be a bum.
nina: wouldnt it be funny if a bum is actually useful when bums are supposed to not
have any credibilty and skills?
me: a cool bum will be knowledgable and useful but just wanna bum.
classic bum's answer to everything.
surrounded by all these overachieving asians make me wanna just be a bum, u know?
and its not that i dont think i can measure up.im sure i have something to offer.i might not be the top person but at least i know i'll go somewhere,be something if i tried hard enough.its just that, everyone's just trying to outdo one another to get to the top, what happens after that?does your position dictate your life?will you be a happy person?
once im rich,i wont have a lot of friends.but i can buy them.i can buy friends.
i dont think the argument is weak at all.money can kind of buy you everything.cos if you have a cool car,all the chicks will love you.if you wear nice expensive clothes, everyone will think you look good and naturally be drawn to you.
so with money, technically, you can buy anything.
why are some people just luckier than others?gallagher can be inspired by his own laziness and write a song about it,cut an album with the song in it.
others like me, on the other hand...
lets hope i my answer will change the next time someone asks me that.and hopefully it wont be my parents who'll ask me that.asian mentality (answering to parents).cant shake it off.
